Welcome everyone to 2019! We hope you’re just as excited as we are to take our first steps forward into the new year. The Chamber has a lot of projects in-the-works, but I’m ready to unveil two of those for you today.
The Red Oak Survey
This community survey has been in-the-works since the beginning of 2018. We initially released a pilot survey at the Buy Local Expo. This was a paper copy of the survey which we quickly found was very time consuming when performing the necessary tabulations needed. We took the questions that worked, dropped those that didn’t, and overall refined the survey into an easily accessible online version. The purpose of this survey is to gauge the community’s experiences and perceptions of Red Oak. Community feedback with this survey is important as the Chamber and its volunteers work towards creating a strong positive image for Red Oak as a great place to work, live, raise a family, and to visit. We would very much appreciate it if you would dedicate around 8 minutes to complete this survey for Red Oak. You will find the link to the survey on our homepage at www.redoakiowa.com.
A New Map of Red Oak
The Chamber is very excited to announce the coming of a new community map which is a COMPLETE overhaul of the existing trifold. The new map will be an 11×17 tear-away geared towards visitors and those who have recently moved to our community. With that in mind you will find various points of interest color coded by 14 different categories: Arts & Entertainment, Banks & ATM, Education, Food & Drink, Funeral Homes, Gas Stations, Government Services, Grocery & Liquor Stores, Historic Sites & Information, Lodging, Medical, Parks & Recreation, Religious Organizations, and Shopping. We have created the map to be large and easily readable, yet functional with different options to learn more information about Red Oak and what all we have to offer. If you would like to see the design before it’s officially released, come down to the Red Oak Chamber office for a sneak peek!
There’s More to Come!
Like I mentioned before, the Red Oak Chamber and Industry Association has several projects that are in-the-works, and that these are just two of the projects we’re ready to pop the cap on. Stay tuned for what else is to come in 2019. But remember, if you can’t wait to know what else is in the pipeline, or if you want to be part of the discussion of moving Red Oak forward, then please contact our office to get involved!
