According to the calendar, the first day of spring is March 20th and that’s what I am focusing on while ignoring the mounds of snow all around us!
Business After Hours –
AgriVision hosted our February Business After Hours. What a great turn out of Chamber members and their customers! Derrick Bucy spoke about the history of AgriVision and a very informative tour was given by other AgriVision representatives.
Our next Business After Hours will be hosted by Vial Insurance, LLC on Friday, March 29th. Watch for details coming very soon! Interested in hosting a Business After Hours or want to know more about hosting? Give me a call! 712-623-4821.
Legislative Briefings –
The next legislative briefing is scheduled for 8:00 am on Saturday, March 9th in the meeting room at the Montgomery County History Center. Senator Mark Costello, Representative David Sieck, and Representative Cecil Dolecheck will be present. The third legislative briefing will be held during the SW IA Buy Local Expo on Saturday, April 6th at 10 am in the media center of Inman Primary Elementary.
Leadership Red Oak –
We had an awesome kick off session for our 2019 Leadership Red Oak program! Tina Bakehouse, a communications and professional career coach, facilitated a workshop called “Know Thyself: Learn and Lead.” It was a very informative and enlightening program that was well received by all. Following the workshop, the class was given a five-star presentation and tour of the Montgomery County History Center by Dave McFarland. The hosts for the next 3 sessions in March are: United Farmers Cooperative, Na-churs/Alpine Solutions, AgriVision Equipment Group, the Civic Service Groups of Red Oak at the Red Oak Grand Theatre, Nishna Productions, Johnson Controls, Fres-Co System USA, and Red Oak Fabrication. A huge thanks to all of our hosts and the following sponsors: Red Oak Greenhouse; Building Crafts, Inc.; Carrick & Associates, LLP; United Farmers Cooperative; Johnson Controls; American Hydraulics; Goranson See & Crop Specialists; H&R Block; Montgomery Co. Family YMCA; Montgomery Co. Memorial Hospital. Without the investment and generosity of our sponsors, we would not be able to offer Leadership Red Oak or any other programs and events.
